Fan Casting G.I. Joe
For anyone who grew up in the 80s, the battle cry of "Yo Joe" still gives us chills! Unfortunately, every time Hollyweird has tried to make a live action version of our beloved childhood cartoon, G.I. Joe, they have gotten it wrong. At this point, I wish they would just stop trying. Unless Jerry Bruckheimer is going to do for G.I. Joe what he did for Transformers, just leave things be.

One of the ways they have constantly failed in the film-making is in casting. The first G.I. Joe live-action movie was horrendous! It was as if they just threw in as many characters as possible without any idea as to what they actually looked like or what their place was within the Joes of Cobra.
I used to loved G.I. Joe so much that I payed special homage to it in my superhero urban fantasy series, Silke's Strike Force. The series title is even a play off a G.I. Joe comic book featuring one of the very first female fighters, Scarlett. I leaned into the codenames and backstories to create my own factions. I even used the G.I. Joe card design that used to appear on the back of the toy packages when mapping out my character traits.
With all this in mind, I wanted to offer my own fan-casting for a feature film. The only ones I kept from the other movies are The Rock and Lee Buying Hun, who I also used for reference designing my main villain WRATH (seen above).
