What people are saying about Demon Hunter: The Chosen One
For fans of dark fantasy, this book is a must read. It has all the qualities dark fiction readers could want: adventure; mystery; demons; werewolves; vampires and more. A truly good, old fashioned legend and lore adventure novel that leaves readers thirsting for the sequel, which, fortunately, is coming out this month. Once you read this one, you won’t want to miss Demon Hunter: Seek and Destroy. Both are available in digital format and can be purchased through the Cynthia Vespia Book Store.
What people are saying about Demon Hunter: Seek & Destroy
Loved it! Your writing reminded me of Stephen King’s last book. The dead rising on the battered ship gave the same eerie horrific chills and thrills as the dead things on the ancient ship off Duma Key. From Chapter Five on, the fast pace had me totally mesmerized. Like you wrote to explore the love phenomenon in a horror novel surprised me by the way it increased the depth of my characters. And it truly did. Costa had to confront all those physical demons as well as his own psychological demons. And he did! High adventure, steamy love affair, deception, demons, vampires werewolves, zombies and even Satan himself. Thanks for the exciting ride!
The characters were just like you and me. That made the story all the more better to read. I love it when I can envision the characters in my head and even the description of the areas where the went was amazing. But the plot, in and of itself was by far, the best of the story. Who doesn't like a book filled with mystery, evil and action. I know I do!
Ms. Vespia gave me the opportunity to read this book and I'm really glad that I accepted. I'm looking forward to reading more about the adventures of Costa. I know there is a second story in the works or going to be released sometime soon and I can't wait to read it. Thank you so much for giving me the chance to read your wonderful book!
Demon Hunter: Seek and Destroy is the second book in the Demon Hunter series by Cynthia Vespia. Its action packed with demons, zombies, dragons, werewolves, hell hounds and even Satan himself. A fast paced, thriller with surprises at every turn, I found this book difficult to put down once I started reading. If you enjoy an action adventure story with a dark edge and lots of supernatural creatures you will certainly enjoy Demon Hunter: Seek and Destroy.
Vespia's DEMON HUNTER: THE CHOSEN ONE turned out to be more like a classic re-telling of Conan with a bit of Doug Clegg's "Priest of Blood" series thrown in.
Vespia's tale of a 16 year-old hunter named Costa Calabrese is chock-full of action, demons, shapeshifters, and vampires (who are thankfully vicious bloodsuckers, NOT "Twilight-ish" cry babies).
What follows is standard sword & sorcery fare, although Vespia's fine writing keeps the pages flipping (or scrolling, considering this is an e-book). There's nothing new here for fans of this stuff, but the tale itself is well told and the unlikely alliance between Costa, a headstrong elf named Paralay, and Talos' daughter, Talisa, are memorable enough that they should hold up fine to future adventures (a second title, DEMON HUNTER: SEEK AND DESTROY (also 2009), was released shortly after this one).
The Pen & Muse Blog:
What I liked: The second book in the series for Demon Hunter: Seek and Destroy is the the new story of Costa, the newest edition to the demon hunters. Aided by his friends and companions will embark on a journey to conquer and face evil. Will they survive? Will they surive or will companions also become Costa's own opposition? This is a must read, I would recommend reading the first book in the series, called The Chosen first to get a bit more background though. Get your adventure, action, and demon hunting face on and go read Demon Hunter!
